When a bug or unexpected behavior occurs in Ampler, it is useful for our Support team to collect extra information from the logs on your machine about what went wrong. To gather these logs, please follow the steps below.
Note: The steps below are shown for PowerPoint. If you experience a bug or unexpected behavior in Excel, Word, or Outlook, the process is the same. Simply perform the steps in the relevant program instead of PowerPoint.
- Close PowerPoint completely.
- Open PowerPoint again.
- In PowerPoint, go to Ampler > Settings > About. Scroll down and put a checkmark in ‘Enable debug logging’.
- Click OK to close the Settings window
- Reproduce the bug (i.e., perform the steps that cause the unwanted behavior).
- In PowerPoint, go to Ampler > Personal Settings > About. Remove the checkmark in ‘Enable debug logging’
- Click ‘Email logs’ and send the log files to our Support team for investigation.
- Return to the Settings window in PowerPoint and click OK.
