Using your content library in Word

Ampler’s My Library lets you insert, save, and share text, pages, shapes, tables, and images in Word, so approved content is reused across documents instead of rebuilt.

Quick answer: Click My Library (Ctrl+Shift+M) on the Ampler ribbon, search or browse for content, and double-click or drag it into the document; use Add content to save your own and Add Source to share.

Add a shared source so the team works from one library.

  1. Add a shared source folder so your team or company draws from the same library.
  2. Access the shared templates, covers, tables, and other content from it.

A shared source keeps everyone reusing the same approved content.

Keyboard shortcut

My Library is Ctrl+Shift+M by default; you can reassign it in the Ampler Settings → Shortcuts.

Why use it

Boilerplate, standard tables, and approved sections get rebuilt over and over because the last version can’t be found. A library — shared across the team — turns that into a searchable, reusable set, so people insert the approved content rather than remaking it.

How consultants use it

Reports reuse a great deal of vetted material — standard sections, approved tables, boilerplate language — and firms maintain libraries so teams build on prior work. Three conventions apply:

  • Reuse before rebuild: search the library for approved content first.
  • Capture the good work: useful sections and tables are saved back to the library.
  • Share one source: a team source keeps everyone on the same approved content.

Using the library well makes a store of content actually save time.

Tips & best practices

  • Save reusable sections, tables, and boilerplate to the library.
  • Point the team at a shared source for consistency.
  • Search by keyword rather than scrolling folders.
