Insert or change a cover page in Word

Ampler inserts a cover page from your library and lets you save your own, so documents open on an approved, branded cover instead of a hand-built one.

Quick answer: Click Cover on the Ampler ribbon to see the cover pages in your library and insert or update one; to save your own, use Add content and choose Cover page.

How to use it

Keyboard shortcut

Cover has no default shortcut. To assign one, open the Settings dropdown on the Ampler ribbon, choose Shortcuts, click Set shortcut on the function, and press your key combination.

Why use it

Building a cover page by hand — title, logo, date, author — is repetitive and drifts out of the house style. Inserting one from the library puts an approved, branded cover on the document in a click, and lets you save new ones for reuse.

How consultants use it

A report’s cover is the first thing a client sees, so it’s expected to be exactly on-brand. Reusing an approved cover keeps that consistent. Three conventions apply:

  • An approved, branded cover: documents open on the firm’s standard cover, not a hand-built one.
  • Reused, not rebuilt: the cover comes from the library rather than being remade each time.
  • Consistent first impression: every report presents the same professional front page.

A library cover page makes the document’s front page on-brand in one click.

Tips & best practices

  • Save your firm’s standard covers to the library for reuse.
  • Update the existing cover in place rather than rebuilding it.
  • Pair with a document template and table of contents for a complete start.
