Ampler’s Scan & Fix checks a Word document against formatting and consistency rules and fixes the issues it finds, reviewed one by one in a panel.
Quick answer: Press Scan & Fix (Ctrl+Shift+P) on the Ampler ribbon, then click Fix or Undo on each issue; use the panel to inspect and jump to any instance.

Keyboard shortcut
Scan & Fix is Ctrl+Shift+P by default; you can reassign it in the Ampler Settings → Shortcuts.
Why use it
Checking a long document for formatting inconsistencies by hand is slow and unreliable. Scan & Fix applies a consistent rule set across the document and fixes what it finds from one panel, so the document is clean before it goes out.
How consultants use it
In a client report, formatting inconsistency reads as carelessness regardless of the quality of the content. A consistency pass before issuing is standard. Three habits apply:
- A formatting pass before every issue: a dedicated quality-control step before the report goes out.
- Consistency across a long document: the same rules are applied from cover to appendix.
- Reviewed, not blind: each issue is inspected and fixed or skipped deliberately.
Scan & Fix automates the final consistency pass on a document.
Tips & best practices
- Run a full scan as the last step before exporting or sending.
- Use the panel to jump to each instance and confirm the fix.
- Update all fields first so the scan works on the final content.
