Ampler copies a shape’s size, position, or both from one shape and applies it to another, so elements are matched to an exact reference instead of being resized and moved by eye.
Quick answer: Select a shape and click Pick up position, Pick up size, or Pick up position and size; then select another shape and click Apply.
How to use it
Pick up size and/or position from one shape, then apply to another.
- Select the reference shape and click Pick up position, Pick up size, or Pick up position and size.
- Select the target shape and click Apply.
The target takes on the picked-up geometry exactly — just the position, just the size, or both.
Keyboard shortcut
These functions have no default shortcut. To assign one, open the Settings dropdown on the Ampler ribbon, choose Shortcuts, click Set shortcut on the function, and press your key combination.
Why use it
Making two shapes exactly the same size, or placing one in exactly the same spot as another on a different slide, is fiddly to do by hand. Picking up the geometry from a reference and applying it makes the match exact — and lets you transfer position and size independently.
How consultants use it
Exhibits are held to exact dimensions, and elements that should match are expected to match precisely. Copying geometry from a reference is how that standard is enforced. Three habits apply:
- Transfer exact geometry: size and position are copied, not re-estimated.
- Identical size or position across elements: matching shapes end up truly identical.
- A reference sets the standard: one shape defines the dimension the others adopt.
Pick up and apply makes matching geometry a two-click, exact operation.
