Insert and update an agenda in PowerPoint

Ampler builds an agenda from a layout in your library and keeps it updatable — type your topics, generate the agenda (or a table of contents), and refresh it when the deck changes.

Quick answer: Click Agenda (Ctrl+Shift+A) on the Ampler ribbon, choose a layout, type your topics, and click Create agenda; edit and click Update agenda to refresh it later.

How to use it

Choose an agenda layout, type the topics, and create the agenda.

  1. Click Agenda (Ctrl+Shift+A) on the Ampler ribbon and select an agenda layout from your library.
  2. Type in the agenda topics and click Create agenda.

Advanced options add a topic number, a responsible owner, a time, and a page number; choose Agenda, Table of Contents, or both.

Modify and update the agenda

  1. Navigate to an agenda slide.
  2. Change the agenda layout or content and click Update agenda.

The agenda pages refresh to match, so the structure stays in sync as the deck evolves.

Keyboard shortcut

Agenda is Ctrl+Shift+A by default; you can reassign it in the Ampler Settings → Shortcuts.

Why use it

A hand-built agenda drifts out of date the moment the deck is reordered, and rebuilding it is tedious. Ampler generates the agenda from your topics and a library layout, and updates it in place — so the roadmap of the deck always matches the deck.

How consultants use it

Consulting decks are structured around an explicit agenda, and workshop packs often need owners and timings against each topic. Keeping that agenda accurate as the deck changes is part of a professional pack. Three conventions apply:

  • The agenda frames the story: a clear agenda (or table of contents) signposts the deck’s structure up front.
  • Owners and timings where needed: advanced options add responsible owner, time, and page number for workshops.
  • Kept in sync: Update agenda refreshes the pages so the roadmap always matches the deck.

An updatable agenda keeps the deck’s structure honest as it evolves.

Tips & best practices

  • Save your firm’s agenda layouts to the library so they’re ready to use.
  • Use the advanced options for workshop packs that need owners and timings.
  • Run Update agenda after reordering the deck so the pages stay correct.
