Ampler stretches selected lines or shapes to the edges of a reference shape, so connectors and dividers span exactly to a box rather than being dragged roughly into place.
Quick answer: Select the lines and the reference box last, then click Stretch (e.g. Stretch left) to extend them to the inside of the reference; click twice to reach the outside edge.
How to use it

Select the lines and the reference box last, then stretch to its edge.
- Hold Shift and left-click to select the lines and the reference box last.
- Click Stretch left (or the relevant direction) to stretch to the inside of the last selection.
- Click it twice to stretch to the outside edge, and enter a spacing if you want a gap.
Select only one line to use Single Selection and stretch it to the drawing guides instead.
Keyboard shortcut
The stretch functions have no default shortcut. To assign one, open the Settings dropdown on the Ampler ribbon, choose Shortcuts, click Set shortcut on the function, and press your key combination.
Why use it
Making a connector or divider reach exactly to the edge of a box — every time, on every slide — is hard to do by dragging. Stretch extends the selected lines to a reference shape’s edge precisely, so spans and dividers line up cleanly with the elements they connect.
How consultants use it
Connectors, rules, and dividers are expected to meet the elements they join exactly — a line that stops short or overshoots is an obvious flaw. Stretching to a reference keeps those spans precise. Three habits apply:
- Connectors fit exactly: a line spans precisely to the edge of the box it joins.
- Aligned to a reference edge: the reference shape defines where the line ends.
- Clean, precise spans: dividers and connectors meet their targets, not near them.
Stretch makes a line reach its reference exactly, in one click.
Tips & best practices
- Select the reference box last so the lines stretch to it.
- Click twice to reach the outside edge; add a spacing for a deliberate gap.
- Use Single Selection with one line to stretch it to the drawing guides.
